et partie par le township de Clinton ; au sud par la ligne de la province; à l'est, partie par le townsnip de Clinton, et partie par le township de Woburn ; et à l'ouest partie par le township de Ditton et partie par le township de Emberton.Commençant à un poteau et borne de pierre planté sur la ligne extérieure sud du township de Marston susdit, et marquant l'angle nord-ouest du dit township de Clinton et l'angle nord-est de la dite étendue ou compeau do terre ; de là le long de la ligne extérieure ouest du dit township de Clinton, dans une direction sud, cent quatre-vingt deux chaînes, plus ou moins, jusqu'à un angle ; de là plein est, cent quatorze chaînes, plus ou moins, jusqu'à un angle ; de là le long de la ligne extérieure ouest du dit township de Clinton, dans une direction sud, cent cinquante-deux chaînes, plus ou moins, jusqu'à un poteau et borne de pierre marquant l'angle sud-ouest du dit township de Clinton et l'angle nord-ouest du township de Woburn susdit; de là le long de la ligne extérieure ouest du dit township de Woburn, plein sud, trois cent soixante-douze chaînes, plus ou moins, jusquà l'intersection de la ligne de la province susdite, à un poteau et borne do pierre marquant l'angle sud-ouest du dit township de Woburn, et l'angle sud-est de la dite étendue ou compeau de terre ; de là le long do la dite ligne do la province et la suivant dans une direction généralement ouest et sud, jusqu'à un poteau et borne de pierre marquant l'angle sud-est du township de Emberton susdit, et l'angle sud-ouest de la dite étendue ou compeau de terre ; de là le long de la ligne extérieure est du dit township de Emberton, plein nord, trois cent cinquante-huit chaînes, plus ou moins, jusqu'à un poteau et borne de pierre marquant l'angle nord-est du dit township de Emberton et l'angle sud-est du township de Ditton susdit ; de là le long de la ligne extérieure est du dit township de Ditton, encore vers le nord, huit cent vingt-cinq chaînes, plus ou moins, jusqu'à un poteau et borne de pierre marquant l'angle nord-est du dit township de Ditton et l'angle nord-ouest de la dite étendue ou compeau de terre ; et de là le long de la ligne extérieure sud du township de Marston susdit, plein est, cinq cent vingt-huit chaînes, plus ou moins, jusqu'à la place du départ.La dite étendue ou compeau de terre ainsi limitée et bornée contenant cinquante mille, huit cent acres de terre, plus ou moins, en superiieie.Et la dite étendue ou compeau de terre a été de plus disposée et subdivisée, par un mesurage fait survies lieux, en rangs et lots de la manière suivante : les rangs réguliers étant de quatre-vingts chaînes et quatre-vingts chaînons en profondeur, et les lots étant de treize chaînes en largeur chacun, et contenant chacun cent acres de terre, plus ou moins, et la réserve ordinaire de cinq par cent pour les chemins, sauf et excepté les lots brisés et irréguliers, savoir : les rangs premier et second, en quarante lots chacun, numérotés de l'ouest à l'est, savoir, du numéro un au numéro quarante inclusivement ; rang troisième en 3uarante-nuit lots numérotés de l'ouest à l'est, savoir, u numéro un à quarante-huit inclusivement ; rang quatrième, aussi en quarante-huit lots numérotés de 1 ouest à l'est, savoir, du numéro un au numéro quarante-huit inclusivement, dont les lots du numéro un au numéro vingt-et-un inclusivement sont bornés au sud par le chemin de la Rivière Hampden et Arnold ; Now Know Ye, that, under the authority of the said Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, We have constituted and by this Our Royal Proclamation, do constitute into a township by the name of thetownship of CHESHAM, that certain tract of our waste lands situate and being in the said county of Compton, in the said district of St.Francis, in our Province of Quebec, and boundod and described as follows, in and by the report of the Honorable Joseph Octave Beaubien Our Commissioner of Crown Lands, in Our said Province of Quebec, made to the Lieutenant-Governor of Our said province, to wit : on the north partly by the towuship of Marston, and partly by the township of Clinton, on the south by the province line, on the east partly by the township of Clinton and partly by the township of Woburn, and on the west portly by the township of Ditton and partly by the township of Emberton.Beginning at a post and stone boundary planted on the south outline of the township of Marston aforesaid, and marking tin; north-west angle of tho said township of Clintoii,# and the north-east angle of the said tract or parcel ôf land, thenee along the west outline of the said township of Clinton, southwardly one hundred and eighty-two chains more or less to an angle, thence due east one hundred and fourteen chains more or less to an angle, thence along tho west outline of tho said township of Clinton, southwardly one hundred and lifty-two chains more or less to a post and stone boundary, marking the southwest angle of the said township of Clinton and the north-west angle of the township of Woburn aforesaid, thence along the west outline of the said township of Woburn, due south, three hundred and seventy-two chains more or less to the intersection of the province line aforesaid, at a post and stone boundary marking the south-west angle of the said township of Woburn, and the south-cast angle of the said tract or parcel of land, thence along the said province line and following its several courses, in a general westward and southward direction to a post and stone boundary marking the south-east angle of the township of Emberton aforesaid, and the south-west angle of the said tract or parcel of land, thence along the east outline of the said township of Emberton, due north, three hundred and fifty-eight chains, more or less to a post or stone boundary marking the northeast angle of the township of Emberton, and the south-east angle of the township of Ditton aforesaid, thence along the east outline of the said township of Ditton, still northwardly, eight hundred and twenty-live chains, more or less, to a post and stone boundary marking the north-east angle of the township of Ditton, and the north-west angle of the said tract or parcel of land, and thence along the south outline of the township of Marston aforesaid, due east, five hundred and twenty-eight chains, more or less, to the place of beginning.The said tract or parcel of land thus limited and bounded, containing fifty thousand eight hundred acres of land, more or less in superficies.And the said tract or parcel of land has been further in part laid out and subdivided by actual measurement in the field into ranges and lots in the manner following : the regular ranges being eighty chains and eighty links in depth, and the lots being each thirteen chains in breadth, and containing severally one hundred acres of land, more or less, and th* usual allowance of five per centum for highways, save and except the broken and irregular lots, that is to say: ranges first and second each in forty lots numbered from west to east, namely, from number one to number forty inclusive; range third into forty-eight lots numbered from west to east, namely, from number one to number forty-eight inclusive ; range fourth, also into forty-eight lots numbered from west to east, namely, from number one to number forty-eight inclusive, whereof the said lots from number one to number twenty-one inclusive, are bounded on the south by the Hampden and Arnold River Road ; range fifth into twenty-seven lots, numbered from west to east, namely, from number twenty-two to number forty-eight inclusive, all tho said lots being bounded on the south by the said Hampden and Arnold River Road ; range sixth into forty-eight lots, rante huit inclusivement, les dits lots étant bornés au nord par le chemin susdit de la rivière Hampden et Arnold ; rangs septième et huitième aussi en quarante huit lots chacun, numérotés do l'ouest à l'est, savoir, du numéro un au numéro quarante-huit inclusivement, les lots du huitième rang étant en partie bornés par la ligne de la province; rang neuvième en trente-six lots numérotés de l'ouest à l'est, savoir, du numéro un au numéro trento-six inclusivement; et enfin rang dixième aussi en trente-six lots numérotés de l'ouest à l'est, savoir, du numéro un au numéro trente-six inclusivement, dont les lots du numéro dix au numéro trente-six inclusivement sont bornés au sud par la ligne de la province susdite;
