AVANT-PROPOS FOREWORD REPERTOIRE CADASTRAL Selon que l'on consulte les plans de cadastre, les livres de renvoi ou les publications dans la Gazette officielle, on rencontre fréquemment des appellations différentes pour désigner un même cadastre.Cette anomalie est une cause de confusion et nuit sérieusement aux nombreuses opérations reliées au cadastre.Le répertoire cadastral a été préparé pour cpr-riger cette situation en proposant un seul nom français et un seul nom anglais pour chaque cadastre et en donnant un bref historique de chacun.Cette nomenclature a été discutée avec les experts de la Commission de Géographie du Québec et, dans la mesure du possible, rédigée conformément aux règles toponymiques usuelles.L'information contenue dans le présent répertoire est complète jusqu'au 31 décembre 1971.Les additions qui continuent de s'accumuler et qui nécessiteraient une tenue à jour constante de ce document sont disponibles au service du Cadastre du ministère des Terres et Forêts.CADASTRAL GUIDE It has been frequently noted that discrepancies exist as to the designation of certain cadastres when the cadastral plans, the books of reference and the Québec Official Gazette are compared.This leads to confusion and seriously hinders the many operations related to the cadastre.The Cadastral Guide has been prepared in order to remedy this situation; it proposes one French name and one English name and a brief historical outline for each cadastre.This method of designation has been discussed with the experts on the Québec Geographical Commission and, as far as possible, it has been prepared in accordance with the standard rules of toponymy.The information given in this guide is complete up to December 31, 1971.Additions are still being made and will require constant updating of this volume;
