in common law marriage for over twenty years. The charge came following an inquest last night into the shooting which took place last Tuesday.Mr Lepine came voluntarily to the Quebec Provincial Police station after the shooting and made a declaration before Corporal Turner.Witnessing at the inquest were Constable Gosselin, Livide Belec of the QPP, Corporal Turner, Rene Marchand of the Homicide Squad, Anita Lepine, daughter of the deceased, and Mr Alphonse Lepine. The Coroner, Dr Harold Laycock, decided on the ev idence that death was due to internal haemorrhage caused by two bullets and that it was a case of homicide. The preliminary hearing will take place on May 28th and the case will probably then be heard in the fall assizes. No blame in Kavelin death Monday is deadline for RC Board been advised by the Prime Minister that you are authorized by the Cabinet to deal with our telegram of April eleventh and with the seventeen points or principles submitted April fourteenth. Our teams are standing by twenty-four hours a day, ready to leave for the capital. We cannot believe that the Government of Quebec would in the general interest of the Province refuse to explore these specific points as listed even if it finds it impossible to approve of them in full. The purpose of this exchange passed resolutions are absolutely required according to the officials’ of the Outaouais Régionale who were present at the meeting in Shawville. These resolutions do not mean that all pupils in the local board’s jurisdiction will be included in the negotiat-The Commission Scolaire May 12, Monday is the deadline for all Roman Catholic School Boards of Pontiac who wish to have their English speaking students included in negotiatons with the Protestant Regional School Board. Most of the student body didn’t go to school. The decision was left to each family as to whether to send the children in or not.The teachers felt that the children should not be exposed to the one day teachers’ strike and sent a note home with the children on the previous day asking parents to keep them home.On the other hand the school board instructed the principal to send notes home with the children stating that school would be held “as usual”.The children were thus used to further the interests of both groups, which, in Shawville, were not of one mind.In some other parts of West Quebec the school boards and Home and School Associations asked that children remain at home during the one day.Despite the confusion in Shawville there were no unseemly incidents to mar the demonstration of the teachers’ growing impatience with a Ministry of Education which will not settle a dispute nor sign a contract after almost two years of negotiations. At other Protestant schools through Pontiac the teachers also struck but nowhere else was seen the amusing flag episode which several local citizens were able to photograph in front of the Shawville school. If the Monday night, it will require statistics which only be figured on the basis of resolutions from the interested local boards. The negotiations anticipated are for a long term agree- with the Protestant Board similar to the agree ment used by the schools in the Chateauguay Valley and would result in the acceptance of English speaking Catholic pupils at Pontiac High School.Mr Cecil Vibert, president
