NOTIFICATION: within 24 hours to the Health Department by physicians, heads of families or institutions who are aware of.or have reasons to believe in, the existence of a case.PENALTY IN DEFAULT OF NOTIFICATION — $20.00 fine for each day of delay.ISOLATION- Patient should be isolated with his nurse in a separate room from which the unnecessary furniture and all hangings should be removed (isolation is not compulsory, but eminently advisable).REMOVAL OF PATIENTS: It is forbidden to remove a patient suffering from typhoid from one municipality to another without a 24 hour notice to the secretary-treasurer of the municipality to which the patient is being removed: such notice should give the place to which the patient is to be carried and the name of the person with whom he will reside.Such removal may be made only in an ambulance or a private conveyance.The nurse only shall be allowed to accompany the patient.Any conveyance so used shall afterwards be disinfected.
