ville last week Little Arthur Jenkerson was in your city on Wednesday.MARTINVILLE, About ten o’clock on Wednesday night the people of Martin ville and vicinity were arroused by the alarm of fire and flames were seen issuing from John Duffey’s block.In a few minutes E.A.Green’s store, dwelling house anti barn, the church and bridge were in flames.In less than half an hour all were a mass of ruins.It was ohly through the hérita work of the men on the west side in tearing down a part of the church horse shed that the part of the village was saved, and by the persistent efforts of those on the west side that the fire was checked at the river.Had it not been for the heroic work of the men, Martinville would now be mass of mins.Mr.DiifTey continues to run his other store and we hope
