strengthens the nerves and makes the sed looking dejected dyspeptic feel like a new man in twenty-tour hours. The general manager of a Toronto Manufacturing Company who u-ed Ferrozone with very marked results, says: “The strain of conducting a large business brought on a seige of Nervous Indigestion about a year ago, which 1 endeavored in vain to shake off.Doctors told me only a complete rest would cure me, but not being able to spare the time, I used Fer rozone instead. It perfectly restored my good health in a short time.I have confidence in the merits of Ferrozone, and am pleased to recommend it.’ What Ferrozone can do for you can be best proven by giving it a trial.Every reliable druggist recommends and sells it, price r>0(\ a box, or three boxes for $1.25.Sent to your address by mail it price is forwarded toN.C.Poison & Co., Kingston, Ont.Toronto, January 12 Mayor Uiquhart’s inaugur i address this morning advocated many reforms in the administra; ;on.He would give the Boai t of Control still larger poweis, making it the supreme executive head of the new council, the function of the council to be purely legislative, and thus abolish all the standing committees. He advocates taking strong measures against the Street Railway Company in an effort to make it live up to its agreement with the city, also to acquire the works of the gas company, to secure more parks and nlaygrounds in the city.It asks tn© city to cooperate with the exhibition board to secure an all-Canada exhibition for Toronto this season. He also advocates allowing every facility to every radial railway to enter the city.He would allow the electors to intervene in the administration of affairs if they consider the interests of the city are being sacrificed.Prof.IT.Hodgson E'Us* Official Analyst to the Dominion Government, reports that Su n-light Soap contains “no free alkali,”—that means no damage to the clothes or Jtands.Sosp REDUCES EXPENSE s bi , A4 w n Î A«k f#r t*« aetAcem Bar Tiain leaving Sheibrooke at 5.10 a.m.daily except Monday—makes close connection at Montreal with through solid trains to Toronto, London, Detroit, Ottawa, Winni-I>eg and Vancouver.Train leaving at 3.35 p.m.daily except Sunday makes close con* nection at Montreal with solid trains to Minneapolis, Ottawa, St.Paul.Minn., Toronto, London and Detroit.W H BOTTUM City Fsdwmner Affeat.%.r i‘'.aiding.Bell Tslrv hr e ISB.Stkamship Tickets to all Parts of the World.INSURANCE MELBOURNE.The Dominion Bridge Co., are putting the trestle work up, under the sup!©vision of Wm.Ross ot Rich mord, preparatory to erection T the superstructor of the bridge between here and Richmond. The heavy snow storm of Sun-lav night and Monday, blocked up he country roads badly in unvicinity.Something new and lTp-to dnt» ! the dele nee was not to be taken into account to any extent. The facts on which the finding was arrived at were as follows.„ , w Mrs.Dr.Kenney found Mrs.Richardson ill and diagnosed the case as one of arsenical poisoning.Later after the doctor bad seen Miss Richardson give Mrs.Richard son tablets, the older woman had another ill turn, and the doctor diagnosed this also as arsenical poisoning. The finding of arsenic concealed wTith bromide on Miss Richardson’s Pierson when arrested, ia the mind of the court, confirm ed, or partially confirmed, the doctor’s diagnosis. The evidence presented by the experts was conflicting and the court would not pass on that point. In view of all these facts the court is convinced that a crime has b.en committed and that reason-able cause has been shown why and he admits That.He vor®d against dt luand being made to the L gi-lauue for special power to enable our City to cany otic this m eat pr-ject.He staled in a lett>' t j th ; Record (January H h, 19U3) he would have favoured the appointment of a Cuiiiimtioe t » wait upon the Company and ascertain if they would iiunifth tlie c.tn6eus with light at lower than exist!r,g rates ami he concluded his letter by saying : * It this quesrion of cheaper light is taken up in the proper way, 1 believe that somu-rhing Can be accoaiplisued.” It seems oo me that it w«>uld have been of the great* -t importance had Conned lor Jenckes stated what would be “the proper way and wnai whs likely to be accomplished.Evidently lie has strong reasons to abstain from making such declarations. Now it would also be very interesting to know why councillor Jenckes is so hesitating, so d< strous of obtaining dates, e-timut s, &c , and that he, Mr.S.VV.Jenckes, as a citizen is, or at least was, ready a few days ago in company with another citizen win» was also at the same time counc lior, sufficiently informed upon this great question to make an offer to the (J unpin > for its niant. This all goes to «how beyond any doubt, that Mr.Jenckes in his capacity of Councillor spared no effort, though detrimental to the City as it was, to keep the way perfectly clear in favour of Mr.S W.Jenckes av4 speculator.Gentlemen, let me state here, that if I am a candidate today, it is to protest against this policy of delay on the one side arid the policy of speculation on the other, ahd that by a man whose oath of office made it a duty to forget his private interests, to see and to defend only those of the citizens.1 may furthermore state that no efforts were spaied on our part to avoid this contest. We went so far in that direction so as to delegate men of high standing,—and let me name them right here as every thing is perfectly honourable about this, it was Mr.J.P.Royer and Mr.L.E.Panneton,—to wait upon Mr.Jenckes with a view to ascertain from him what were his opinions in tin# matter, and to state on our behalf that the contest would be avoided if he would pledge himself to the effect that he would favour the purchase of the existing Electric Plaut by way of mutual agreement, or faibng so to do, to resort to The Prosperous Farmer. The farmers of Canada are enjoying a period of prosperity. Not only are they growing more grain and cattle, producing m »re butter, cheeee and bacon, but they have had a good market for their products. The good times, the greater volume of trade and the sound conditions of butines» generally are chiefly due to the fact that the farmers are making money. This fact was emphaiz-d the other day by the Hou.8 A Piéher in a speech at Guelph. He said in part:—*To this Dominion agi cultural interests are par %-mount; th‘y supply the greater bulk of our export*.It is the payment for these export», w th which we pay our bills all ov* the world, ft is our agi i| ultural pioduction which supp'd * th< great bu’k of the things which oir transportation companies carry wh ch our mercantile Hk?encie-have to handle, and by wirch our our people have to mak thei living. As long hh this is the case, it is well that our people should b g nerou- and wise in heir expenditure in the interests of th great cum try.lam dispose!
