Two Million The City of Sherbrooke will call for tenders for the sale of $2,860,000 worth of 20-year serial bonds, it was announced yesterday by city treasurer Pierre Bachand, The proceeds of the sale of these bonds will be used to reimburse current bank loans.The last time such an offering was made on the Canadian market was on Feb.3, 1958 for a total of $2,100,000 The treasurer said that present bank loans are limited to finance expenditures carried out under loan bylaws.He said that no bank loans were needed for the current operations.In conclusion, Mr Bachand said that tax collection for To Board Mr.Justice Gaston Desmarais agreed to city attorney Albert Rivard's request yesterday that the city of Sherbrooke immediately take possession of the Graham Farm, the site of the new Lowney plant.Executors of the land, located opposite the St Elie d'Orford turn on King street W,.are Clifford K.Graham and Mrs.Mabel May Barter.The city decided to expropriate land on the Graham farm, for the Lowney company.The present offer by the city is $125.000 for the property.The city yesterday posted a $250,000 bond to protect its interests.By law the city is required to post a bond equal to double the sum of the original offer.The case is now to be referred to the Board of Public Services, which deals w:*h expropriation disputes Car Hits Windsor House WINDSOR MILLS \u2014 (Spe cial) \u2014 A freak accident caused about $1,000 damage to the home of Miss Vivian Sykes, of 111 Main streel Windsor, yes terday.The accident occured when a parked car owned by Raymond Dion and Claude Char-land, both of Windsor Mills, was hit by a second unidentified car Following the accident, the car started rolling down a hill and crashed into the Sykes\u2019 home.According to police, it crashed into the solarium and then into the living room of the house, causing an estimated $1,000 damage Miss Sykes, who was in the house at the time of the accident, was cut on the arm by the flying
