Mrs.L.Bowers were hostesses at a post-nuptial mis-celleanous shower at the home of Mrs.Banfill, for Mrs.George Mc-Vety, nee Mildred Wallace.The already attractive rooms were decorated1 with a profusion of summer flowers.The shower was a complete surprise to Mrs.McVety, who was on her way to Waterville and had been asked to stop at the Banfill home.Upon doing so she was greeted by thG strains of the \u201cBridal Chorus\u201d from Lohengrin, as she entered the living room, where about sixty guests were assembled.The guest of honor was led to a decorated, table beneath a canopy of pink and' green streamers, where the attractively wrapped gifts were piled.Mr.W.Evans in making the presentation, expressed the pleasure it gave the former neighbors to welcome Mrs.MeVety back to Milby and the sincere wishes of all the friends present for every future happiness.Mrs.Richard Wallace, sister-in-law of Mrs.McVety, assisted with unwrapping the lovely gifts.A beautiful reversible w'oollen blanket, a gift from the Milby Centre W.C.T.U., and the Milby Women\u2019s Institute, was presented by Mrs.Roy Suitor, President of the latter organization.Mrs.McVety expressed her thanks in Allen, Mrs.A.Fairbrother and Mrs.FI.Harrison were appointed to attend a meeting in Lennoxville to discuss final arrangements for the School Fair.Mrs.J.Beattie gavo a splendid report of the quarterly county meeting held in Sherbrooke, to which she was a delegate.Each member was asked to bring a book to the September meeting, when an exchange library would be arranged.Following adjournment a
