yesterday by Maurice Gingues.M.P.for Sherbrooke, who said in effect that an airport had been approved for the Sherbrooke region even though the site had not been definitely settled.Federal 1 ransport and Communications ministry experts have already been at work in the district for two ! weeks studying different sites for the airport.Mr.Gingues said the Federal Transport Department had employed help but winder how many must have been destroyed, and the number that will meet such a fate in the future.A few are worth thinking about, such as, the one from Sherbrooke to Stanstead, 4!2d charged in Red, estimated price, $35-60.\t1830 Quebec small circle Paid 1/10 to Stanstead, signed by Governor \u201cLord Aylmer\u201d on very fine envelope, said to be earliest usage of envelope in Canada, price $25-50.There are many more from the Townships with prices such as these.?The Colony of Bahamas is an archipelago comprising some 700 Islands (only 20 inhabited) and over 2 000 cays and rocks.The total area is 4,40314 square miles, and the population in 1953 was 84,841, this includes over 10,000 Europeans.The stamps of this colony have always been very popular, and today many more collectors want them as this colony is one of the British West Indies, and this group is getting more difficult to complete as each month goes by, ?There is a section of Canadian Airmail collecting that is a wonderful field for any collector \u2014 These are the Semi-Officialis issued from 1918 to 1932.Some of these are quite scarce, however, a representative collection can be formed easily enough.The first ones issued were printed from one block in tête-bêche pairs by the United Typewriter Company of Toronto on commercially gummed paper.Some of the air services offered had to be supplemented by Davis and other families.The walls are thick and the in-! terior is in the unique style of j the period, the pews being boxed in with doors at the end.| Painted plaster covers the walls! with a cross
