Sherbrooke.Rev.Mr.Visser, Coaticook, Goes to Iroquois, Ont.The Stationing Committee were engaged all night in preparing the final draft, and it was not until 4.45 this morning that their labors were completed.Several pressmen and Conference members had been waiting in the vicinity of the committee room since midnight, and the President of Conference pronounced the benediction as soon as they were admitted.The changes in this district include the following: Rev.Geo.A.McIntosh, B.A., B.1)., comes to Sherbrooke; Rev.T.P.Shaver goes to Thetford Mines; Rev.Malcolm S.Lehigh to Compton and Rev.Telesphore Roy to Magog.Conference opened sharp at 9 this morning and concluded the 'business oi i ui.i' .ice at 1 o\u2019clock.There was a good attendance, and a large amount of business was transacted.An account of the proceedings will appear in to-morrow\u2019s Record.PROPER LEGISLATION.At the Conference meeting held yesterday afternoon the following resolution was moved by Mr.J.H.Car-son, seconded by C.W.Cate, K.C., and adopted ; \u201cThat this Conference recommends the General Conference Special Committee to take steps to secure the necessary proper legislation in the Province of Quebec to give effect to the Dominion Statute of 1912, respecting the Methodist Church.\u201d This is necessary to render the amended model deed effective and has already been done in the Province of Ontario.EFFICIENCY OF LAY AGENCIES.It was moved by Rev.E.1.Hart, seconded by Rev.W.Hi.Stevens and resolved ; \u201cThat the President nominate a committee of ministers and laymen to Mw MR.B.C.HOWARD, Sherbrooke, who presided at Temperance Meeting.consider the question of maintaining the supply and increasing the efficiency of our lay agencies, to suggest means for their increased employment in the circuits and to report to the next Conference.\u201d The committee appointed is Rev.W.H.Sparling, Rev.Wm.Howitt, Messrs.W.H.Goodwin and T.J.Parkes.LAY ASSOCIATION REPORT.Tlie Lay Association presented their report.The resolution passed by them on Saturday last relative to immigration, and which has already been published in the Record, was, upon the motion of Mr.Cate, referred to the special committee appointed under the action of Monday.« SUPPORT OF SUNDAY SCHOOLS.The report contained another resolution of the Lay Association as follows : \"That the Lay Association earnestly recommends that in view of the importance of Sunday School work, all circuits be asked to make ample provision in their annual budgets for the support of the Sunday School, and thus allow, so far as is practicable, the contributions of the schools to be devoted to Missions.\u201d After discussion, this was, on the motion of Mr.Eagleson, referred to the Permanent Sunday School Committee of the Conference.TO PROHIBIT PRIZE BOUTS.The report of the Temperance, Prohibition and Moral Reform Committee was submitted by Rev.W.Howitt.The report contained a request that a requisition bo sent to tbo Minister of Justice at Ottawa to amend, if possible, at the next session, the definition of the word, \"prize-fight,\u201d so as to include boxing bouts which have the characteristics usually attendant at prize fights, and which are already under the ban in the criminal code.PROTEST RE LIQUOR STORES.The report also contained a protest against the union of liquor and grocery businesses in the same place, a request that inefficient inspectors In \u201cdry places\u201d be removed, a demand for dealing more strictly with moving picture shows where vaudeville turns are given, and referred to the necessity of making known more generally the fact that where thirty persons in a municipality demanded a poll on the licensing question the authorities were compelled to grant it.After considerable debate the report was adopted.THE FINAL DRAFT STATIONING COMMITTEE MADE REPORT EARLY THIS MORNING.The final report of the Stationing Committee was made to Conference this morning at about Conference to prepare a special service to receive baptized children into the Church after they have been instructed in the catacumen classes, or in the Sunday School, that the service he called an affirmation service and that instructions be given to ministers to secure the admission of every baptized child who has reached the age of ten years into the membership of the Church.The report was flying at eacli other\u2019s throats, and, reports from Vienna indicate, with some success.Russia and Germany particularly are busy counselling peace and moderation, and the French Government is supporting them, and, as the principal creditor, is giving both Servia and Bulgaria clear warning that in event of war no financial assistance will be forthcoming either before or after hostilities.Since Servia has definitely declared that she will avoid all provocation towards Bulgaria, even should the latter refuse revision of the treaty of alliance, and will wait before proclaiming annexation of the occupied territories, and since Bulgaria has also expressed readiness to do everything possible to maintain peace, it is still hoped that war may be averted.The Neue Freie Presse learns that Dr.Daneff shortly will form a new Cabinet at Sofia, no military reasons for further delay existing, as the Bulgarian army is ready for action on the Servian and Macedonian frontiers.ONE mi SEVERAL MED Strike Riot at ipswick, Mass., Cause of Great Disturance FIFTEEN ARRESTS MADE, INCLUDING I.W.W.LEADERS.Ipswich, Mass., June II.\u2014 One woman was shot and killed, seven other persons were wounded by bullets and many others, including several policemen, were hurt by flying missiles in a strike riot outside the Ipswich Hosiery Mills last night.Fifteen persons, including leaders of the Industrial Workers of the World, were taken into custody.The dead woman was Miss Nicoletta Paudelopoulos, aged 27, who was a spectator of the fight.Five of the wounded were hurried at once to the Salem Hospital, 14 miles distant, in an automobile.An appeal for help was sent to Salem, and, after a riot call had been souhded in that city, eighteen officers were rushed over the road in automobiles.Order had been restored, however, before their arrival.The actual fighting did not Inst over five minutes.WORK AT MILLS RESUMED.Ipswich, Mass., June 11.\u2014(Special) \u2014The Ipswich Mill, near the gates of which one woman was killed and a number severly juj ived m a not last night, was opened today \u2022without further disturbances.Under protection of a large force of police about 200 operatives resumed work.Neatly 600 remained on strike.The disturbance started when 500 English-speaking employees left the mills at the end of their day\u2019s work.They were met by groups of pickets under the leadership of the Industrial Workers of the World, who have been conducting a strike at the plant for a 20 per cent, increase in wages.-4- Started For Flight Over GilG ADVICE Unionists Say Home Rule Not Understood in Canada MOTION TO REJECT THE MEAS URE DEFEATED BY MAJORITY OF 98.London, June 11.\u2014After one of the most remarkable debates in recent years, the House of Commons yesterday voted down the motion to reject the Home Rule Bill by a majority of 98, after which the measure passed second reading without divis ion.Dissenting from Mr.Redmond, who declared the overseas dominions were overwhelm ng in favor of Irish Home Rule, Major Morrison Bell said the issue had never been clearly put be fore the Canadian people.He challenged the Nationalists to get a resolution in favor of it being passed through the Commons at Ottawa.Hamar Greenwood said there was not a single public man in Canada who was not in favor of Home Rule for Ireland, because the principle had worked well in Canada.It was regarded there as a long stride toward the federation of the Empire.Bonar Law said\u2014\u201cAny one who has the smallest acquaintance with Canada knows Grand Vizier and Minister of War had been assassinated in Constantinople.Mahmoud Schefket Pasha was a office as Grand Vizier since January 23rd., of this year when Kiamil Pasha resigned.On the same day Nazim Pasha, commander of Turkish army at Tchatalja lines, was shot dead during a demonstration in Constantinople.Mahmous Schefket Pasha was a pure Arab and a native of Bagdad.Mahmout Schefket Pasha, despite his close intimacy with Abdul Hamid, was the moving spirit in fostering military revolution which brought about that Sultan\u2019s fame, in which he was assisted by Enver Bey after he had put an end to Cabal, which surrounded Abdul Hamid.The old Sultan attempted to recover his autocracy and Mahmoud Schefket Pasha then caused his deposition and had his brother, Mehmed V, placed on the throne.Soon after the outbreak of the Balkan war, Mahmoud Schefket Pasha was appointed chief of commissarial department of the Turkish War Office, and he was one of those present at the grand the Grand Trunk Pacific from the prairies to the Maritime Province ports in 1914.The question turns on the completion of the car ferry at Levis, as the gap on the main line between Cochrane and Quebec, now only some 30 miles wide, will be filled early this autumn.The contract time for the provision of the ferry is May, 1914, and if this limit is observed, the service from Winnipeg to Moncton will he in operation a year from now.- KINQKTON SOLDIER DROWNED.Kingston, Ont., June 11.\u2014Corporal John Kulkins, of the Fifth Field Battery, of Kingston, was killed as a result of falling off a train at Knight\u2019s Hiding, about five miles from here Monday night.Conductor Heal y, of the O.P.R., saw the soldier lying beside the track yesterday.Coroner Ross drove to the scene, and the body was brought to the city, where it was identified.When found, the body was lying in a pond, and the Coroner pronounced death due to drowning.The Fifth Field Battery, of which the deceased was a member, Levis.RESCUED FROM RIVER Fulford, June 11.\u2014(Special)\u2014Eric, the two-year-old san of Mr.E.C.Joyal, fell into the Yamaska River near his home.His cousin, Joy Galer a girl about eleven years of motored over to Knowlton on Sunday afternoon.Later they proceeded towards Brome, but the four miles was only made in a little less than four hours, owihg to a break down.They were taken in tow by took his degree in 1909.Buckingham was the first parish of which he has had charge, and he has been there since las ordination.Rev.J.A.Ireland, who takes the place held by Rev.Archdeacon Ker for twenty-Four years, is a brother of Mrs.Harris, of Sutton, and of Rev.J.Ireland of South Stukely.Rev.John Ker succeeded the late Rev.John Smith of Sutton in the Episcopal services held at Glen Sutton section.THREE MEN DROWNED CANOE WAS OVERTURNED IN LAKE KENOGAMI.Quebec, June 11.\u2014Three men employed at Price Brothers pulp mills at Jonquieres, were drowned in Lake Kenogami, about seven miles off.yesterday, their canoe being overturned in a heavy wind.The names of the men are Arthur Ross, Francois Duchesne and Joseph Morin, all of Jonquieres, and formerly of Chicoutimi.Their bodies have THROUGH BARB WIRE FENCE.Sutton, June 11.\u2014(Special)\u2014While Mr.E.E.Johnson's auto was coming from Abercorn on Sunday night at a fast rate in passing Mr.Alden Sear's place a slight depression in the road caused the car to swerve from its course in spite of the driver, Mr.Eber Eastman\u2019s efforts, taking the two foot ditch.The car went full tilt through a barb wire fence, which stopped the car just before it cleared from the fence, throwing Mr.Eastman and his companion, Mr.Carl Johnson, clear over the fence into the meadow.Luckily the young men escaped with but slight injuries, while
