BROKEN\u2014WERL DRIVING FROM MAGOG TO SHERBROOKE.A man named Fred Kelly was1 Arthur Davis, cf Magog, was in-drowned in the St.Francis River stantly killed, and E.A.Robinson, near the Lone Pine Rock yesterday °f the same place was seriously in- afternoon, through the capsizing of a boat.The fatality occurred while two women and Kelly were crossing to East Sherbrooke about 4.30.Mrs.Treffley Kelly, who is caretaker at Armitags's farm, East Sherbrooke, took a boat and went across the river to fetch Kelly and Mrs.Le-pine, with whom he boarded at the rear of ICO Queen St.It was their intention to spend the afternoon together and they all three got in the boat and pushed off.When half way across the river, the boat capsized opposite the old Burton Brewery Barn.The two women hung on to the upturned craft as it rolled along in the heavy swirl.Kelly shouted to them that he had \"swallowed a lot tf^-vater and it was all over\u201d with CT\"' then disappeared from view.SCREAMS ATTRACT ATTENTION.The screams of the women were first heard by Mrs.Chapman on Melbourne Street who ran out and saw the unfortunate plight of the two women.Her husband called for help and a young man named Albert Fuller rushed into the water and brought the women and the boat safely to shore.By this time a small crowd had collected and the police were notified by phone of the tragedy.In the meantime Mrs.Lepine and Mrs.Kelly were taken to the home of Mrs.Chouinard where they received attention.DRAGGED RIVER FOR BODY.jured in an auto accident about two miles this side of Lake Park on the Magog Road, Saturday evening.Mr.¦ Arthur Davis, who was an engraver at the Dominion Textile Works, Magog, and Mr.E.A.Robinson, also employed in the office of MR, ROBINSON, MAGOG, who had leg fractured in with the tires of the auto, which Mr.Davis was driving, before they reached Lake Park, but this was remedied and they started off again at a good rate of speed.All went well until they struck a piece of road near the house by Mr.E.Mongeau.about two miles f'-om Lake Park.In a and A.Davis arrived on the scene in the patrol.They procured boats and proceeded to drag the river, but without success.They were compelled to give up the search at 7 p.m.on account of the darkness and the strong current.The search for the body of the drowned man is being continued this | morning.He was 2ii years of age and was employed by Mr.Joe Char-est, Contractor.The depth of the river at the spot where the accident occurred is 15 feet.Mrs.Kelly lost a purse containing $30, while struggling in the water.teen Years Did, Had a Narrow Escape BULLET FROM TWENTY-TWO CALIBRE RIFLE WENT THROUGH HIS BACK\u2014WILL RECOVER A near fatal hunting accident occurred about three miles from this city, yesterday afternoon, when a young lad named Thomas Blanchette was shot in the back by a companion.At 7.30 last night Dr, J.E.Noel was able to trace the course of the bullet by use of the X-Ray, and succeeded in extracting it.The bullet, a twenty-two, had entered the hoy's hack and gone right through to within two inches of his chest.Blanchette left heme early in the afternoon and together with his companion wandered about in the woods until about two o\u2019clock, when they came across a wild duck.In their excitement to kill the bird the small rifle was accidentally discharged, and Blanchette, who is hut fourteen
