[" I Sherbrooke Daily Record Established 1897.SHERBROOKE, QUE., WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 1921.Twenty-fifth Year.HON.MITCHELL HAS ACCEPTED NOMINATION Discussing A Plan For Settlement Of The Irish Problem STATED THAT IRISH PEACE NEGOTIATIONS HAVE PROGRESSED TO POINT WHICH MAKES NECESSARY THE PRESENCE OF ULSTER PRUIER IN LONDON London Times\u2019 Parliamentary Correspondent States th \u201cIt Would Appear that the Day When Ulster Must Be Associated with the Sinn Fein in the Negotiations Is Near at Hand, but the Manner and Time of Sir James Craig\u2019s Coming Are Among the Obscurities of the Situation\u201d\u2014Stated in Certain Circles that Premier Lloyd George Will Have to Delay His Departure for Washington Conference.(Associated Press Despatch) LONDON, November 2.\u2014Negotiations relative to peace in Ireland have progressed to a point which makes necessary the presence in London of Sir James Craig, the Premier of Ulster, it was declared here this momtng.Political correspondents of London newspapers today centered their attention upon the Ulster question, and speculated whether Sir James would soon join in the conversations going forward here.\u201cIt would appear that the day when Ulster must be associated with the Sinn Fein in the negotiations is near at hand,\u201d declared the parliamentary correspondent of the London Times, \u201cbut the manner and time of Sir James Craig\u2019s coming are among the obscurities of the situation.\u201d The Daily Mail asserted there would be but little surprise if Sir James should be invited soon to join in the Irish conference, and other newspapers treated such an event as a probability.A Dublin despatch to Daily Mail stated that many people there were more sanguine than might be expected over the Ulster situation.It said prominent persons in Dublin had been in Belfast recently, and had sounded various circles there with optimistic results, but the despatch added the root of this optimism seemed to lie principally in the belief that the financial position of Belfast was so bad that a junction with the rest of Ireland might be forced by the stringency of money.CLAIMED PREMIER HAS POSTPONED DEPARTURE FOR WASHINGTON There were pessimistic rumors current here last night concerning the Irish negotiations, but there were no developments, as far as known to justify the opinion that the situation was cither better or worse than it had been during the past few days.The absence of any definite prospects of an immediate settlement would obviously lessen the chance of Mr.Lloyd George sailing on the Aquitania, which leaves on Sunday for the United States.Some papers were positive in their statements that Mr.Lloyd George had abandoned all idea of starting on Saturday although he was still determined to go as soon as possible.The business of the Irish Confrence continues to be conducted by four delegates, and it was said last night that there was no intention of îummoning a full conference for several days.PLAN OF SETTLEMENT DISPUTED BY THE COMMITTEE (Associated Press Despatch) LONDON, Nov.2.\u2014There was reason to believe today that a plan of settlement of the Irish question, drafted and discussed in detail by the committee of four delegates representing the Government and the Sinn Fein delegation, is now the chief subject being considered by the two delegations.Aside from the recent formal meetings of the committee and of the conference as a whole, there have been more intimate explorations of the
