The I.O.D.E.has undertaken to operate a small buffet counter, where Icecream, tea and lunches will be served. The limited floor space will not allow of quite as many cars being shown as was the case last year, hut it.is confidently expected that there will be many more varieties.Displays of accessories will be plentiful, running the full length of the hall, and these displays will be all by local dealers. There will be a number of canoes exhibited and possibly a motor boat or two.including the improved Ev in rude motor. The official opening is scheduled for Monday evening, March 30th, and the details in connection with laying out the floor space will ho carried out on Friday and Saturday next. The 54th Armory is at present being used for manoeuvres, and tho drills necessitate constant, use of the .floor during the course of the week. The Regents of all the Chapters of the I.O.D.E.in Sherbrooke were at home, on Saturday evening, at the residence of Mrs.G.L.Hume on Montreal Street. There was a large gathering of the members of the Order to hear the addresses of Mrs.Hodgson, Municipal Regent of Montreal, and Mrs.Finniss, Municipal Regent of Quebec. In her address Mrs.Hodgson referred to the formation of a Provincial Chapter in Quebec Province and spoke of the great benefit it would be in the way of unity. She explained the reasons for the forming of the Chapter, and spoke of the Province of Quebec as being the only province where, since the war, there had not been a depreciation in the number of members.“In some other provinces, chapters organized during the war have been disbanded during the war.I think that a Provincial Chapter would be a great help in keeping the Chapters together, getting them acquainted, and making them of mutual benefit to each other.A Provincial Chapter would also be of great benefit to the National Chapter," said Mrs.Hodgson.She also stated that the Province of Quebec was the only province that had not organized a Provincial Chapter.Mrs.Hodgson explained her admiration for the Sherbrooke Chapter for the work they had done during the war and since the war, and said that Sherbrooke and its I.O.D.E.were very well known. She said that when she was in Toronto recently she met Miss Arnold, President of the National Chapter, and she brought a message from her recommending the information of a Provincial Chapter.Mrs.Finniss Spoke.Mrs.Finniss spoke of the work the Quebec Chapter had done and referred to the War Memorial on Educational lines, and the wonderful success which it has attained. She said in part: "In May liuu at me j says National annual meeting in Mont- | ists in real, Mrs.Smith, National Educational Secretary', brought down the first and main idea of this memorial. After many hours of discussion, seven different clauses were decided upon.Up to the present time it has been possible to carry out two, and the third will probably be in working order by the coming annual meeting. When this memorial was first discussed, it, was thought that $100,000 would be our objective, but it was soon realized that at least $500,000 would needed to carry out the clauses. To date on\\y $350,000 has been received. Are we going to allow our memorial to fail because we are forgetting our responsibilities? We need the assistance of every member at this time.Clause "A" of the War Memorial is as follows: “Annually there is offered in our nine provinces a bursary of $250 # strike can be averted or that ft ft the proposed conference be- ft ft tween the operators and min- ft ft era would be arrainged. It ft ft was indicated that Govern- ft ft ment intervention, at the ft ft least, in the primaries of the ft ft situation, was practically at ft ft an end. a ft ft ft ft ft ft ft ft ft ft ft ft ft ft ft REBELS OCCUPY THE CAPITAL OF ALBANIA Revolutionary Movement Is Declared to Be Directed Against Ahmed Zagoli.(Associated Press Despatch) LONDON, March 13.— Revolutionaries commanded by Zugliedi and Ilsuddusek have occupied Tirana, the capital of Albania, says a despatch KILLED BY HIS OWN MOTOR to the Exchange Telegraph from CAR j Rome.TORONTO, March 13._______ Louis Ihe despatch adds that the mem- Shankrnan, aged 20 years, of Tor- bers °f Government made their onto, cranked hrs car last night j escape from Tirana and established without first throwing it out of gear, themselves at Elbassana, sixty-four IR.SAUVE TO MAKE REQUEST FOR A ROYAL COMMISSION TO INQUIRE INTO CROWN LAND TRANSACTIONS It Is Reported in Political Circles that the Leader of the Opposition in the Quebec Assembly Will Submit a Moton in the Legislative Assembly This Week Calling for a Royal Commission to Inquire into the Charges Which He Will Make in Connection with Trafficking in Crown Lands. * -
