A Safe Tested.\u2014One of Rich\u2019s Salamander Safes was most satisfactorily tested here in the great fire of Friday night.It was stored in Messrs.Shaw\u2019s warehouse.The building all of wood, and constructed with very heavy timbers fed the flames for upwards of six hours, and the heat of the burning mass was intense.On subsequently recovering the safe, and opening it, the the interior wood work was found uninjured, and paper wrapping on the keys, plate, &c.contained in the drawer, had undergone no change whatever.A safe could hardly have been put to a stronger test than in this
