Titre :
The Quebec chronicle
La ligne éditoriale du journal est définie comme suit : « [.] in the management of The Morning Chronicle we shall, therefore, begin by simply declaring, that, as we glory in our connexion with the British Empire, it will be our undeviating aim and unremitting endeavour, to create and foster a cordial attachment to those time-honoured institutions which have made her so illustrious in the annals of the world ». (May 18, 1847, p. 2)

[Traduction]
Voici les différents titres que le Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph a connus depuis ses débuts : Disponibles en ligne : The Morning Chronicle (Jan. 1847 - Nov. 1850) The Morning Chronicle and Commercial and Shipping, 1850-1888 The Morning Chronicle (Feb. 1888 - May 1888) The Quebec Morning Chronicle, 1888-1898 The Quebec Chronicle, 1898-1924 Non disponible en ligne : The Chronicle Telegraph (1925-1934) The Québec Chronicle-Telegraph (1934 à ce jour)

official and grnvine article, in size, in acight, and in gen eral appearance that none but an expert in half dollard can detect the difference, and the only method of distinguishing between the roal ant the false, the com of the Government and the coin of the counterdeiter is by rubbing the suspecte article between the tinger and thumb, when a slight coughness will be felt in the work sur- coutnding the head of the spurious coin ahich is not felt in the genvine arti ule where thy work is smooth, aug | genting a clean shave on the part of the Government.Otherwise the coius are exactly skight artis: tic blemish, if it can be called such, in the false coisa, and the want of aflicial sanction.Hence the counterfeit ix an especially dangerous one, and the warning against it comes in time to put us om our guard against the extreme probphality of its making Its appearance hero in force during the ensuing tourist season\u2019 It affords also an additional weight to the cry of the
