while Shrapnell shells, thrown into the citadel under the direction of Brigadier Stevenson, did much execution. After these preliminary operations, the troops were drawn off and ordered tr bivouac.Sir John Keare found himself surrounded bv enemies on all sides, and in his despatch says, \u201c I had information that a night attack on the camp was intended from without.Mahomed Ubzal Khan, the eldest son of Dost Maliomed Khan, had been sent by his father with a strong party of troops from Cabuol to the brother's assistance at Ghuzuee, and was encamped outside the walls, but abandoned his position on our approach, keeping, however, at the distance of a few miles from us.The two rebel chiefs of the Ghilzie tribe, men of great iufluence, viz: Abdoo!
