Every crystal dissolved immediately\u2014So OF COURSE it takes less!\u201d Lantic \u201cFine\u201d Sugar brings concentrated sweetness to all beverages (hot or cold)\u2014 fi because it's 7 @/ buy Lantic in original packages- 2&5Ih cartons : cône bade © Leggett, seconded by by-road opposite the Walsh | MEMORIAL MEETING AT HUN INGDON During the past two years more than a dozen public meetings have been held with an aim to raising money and ascertaining the vieys of the public as to what form à memorial for the soldiers should take.Many of the gatherings were indifferently attended but at them opinions were sexpressed and different projects suggested.As a rule any feasable proposal which met with aproval of a number was referred to a committee to look into and report at a subsequent meeting but until Monday evening the opinions of those who attended were at variance.In order to bring things to a head.some discussion prepared a report of their meeting in which they proposed a Memorial Building.The ruse had the desired effect, the people realized things were about to come to a head and turned out to the meeting.Unfortunately, none of the committee \u2018except Miss Shaw were present and their report which may have also contained information I along other lines than a building was not available.Miss Shaw simply stated the committee favored a ; Memorial Hall and her report was \u201cplaced on the table far discusson- After some discussion and a good deal of unnecessary talk, it developel that those present were opposed Lo the building proposition and on a vate the committees report was rejected.Tom Gardiner and J.T.Lider moved a monumea not to cost more than $4000 be erected.On the motion being put to the meeting 1t | was rejected.It was evident that a i memorial which consisted of a \u2018monumenj or some cdifice on which would be the names of the soldiers combined with some work which would benefit the community and \u2018future generations was desired.During the evening, F.H.Maclaren had proposed a public recreation park which would consist of a large i field at the entrance of which would be a memorial.either arch or monument and the balance of the park be devoted to athletic development, such as lawn bowling, tennis.baseball, ete.ete.As the suggestion was a new one and merited consideration because of its comprising a memorial edifice to commemate the dead ard also a utility of value in the building of better Canadians, the meeting appeared favorably disposed towards itaud as the hour was late, a committee.composed of Mayor Crawford, Rev.J.B.Maclean, J.D.Murray, Ir.Maxwell.J.DD).Bicknell, J.A.Lank- treo.Dr.Clouston and Db.J.O'Connor way appointed to investigate Lhe feasibility of the plan and report at « meeting to be held on Monday.27th, in the County Building.Waat- ever may be decided on.the community should line up to a nun behind it and push it to a successful conclusion.HUNT INGDON VIL LAGE COUNCIL Met on Friday evening, absent | O'Connor, Braithwaite and Hunter.Thé Jurors lists were submitted | and on motion of Smaill and Faubert ! passed.i Moved by Faubert, sec.by Coun.| Boyd that the application of the Bell Telephone for increase in telephone | tolls he protested against.A petition was submitted asking the council take necessary steps to have the municipality incorporated linto a town under the City and Town !
