[" TET Quebec Ayrshire Society Annual Field Day at Burnside Farms, Howick (By Frank Napier) The annual field duy anc picnic of the Quebec (Provin vial) Ayrshire Society wa: held at Burnside Fanns, How ick, Que., on Saiurduy fore son and early afternoon lugust 9th.Pittingly so, tha date and location was selected so that the Provincial Clu! might be able to pay tribute to the firm of R.R.Ness & Sons, Ltd., on the occasion of that firm's celebration of the fuunding of the Burnside Ayr shire herd seventy yeurs ago hy the late Hon.R.R.Ness OBE.several hundred Ayrshire breeders and their families practically every section of the Province were in attendance as guests of Burnside and the Howick-Huntingdor.Ayrshire Breeders\u2019 Club of which Reg.J.Taylor is Presi dient; Robert E.Ness, Vice President, and Rowland Ness.secretary.In addition a large number of Ayrshire breeders from the Maritimes, Ontario and several of the United States, who had come to Burnside for the 70th Anniversary Sale, also attended the l\u2018icld Day.Also in attendance was George Templeton of Carnell Hurl- ford, Ayrshire, Scotland, who had \u201cflown over\u201d from Scotland to attend the National Ayrshire Sale of the day be fore, and the Burnside Anniversary celebration.One ol Scotland\u2019s, longtime, most outstanding Ayrshire breeders, this was Mr.Templeton\u2019s fifth ur sixth visit to this area and other parts of Canada and the United States.After an address of welcome hy A.Mitchell Ness of R.R.Ness & Sons Ltd, the forenoon was devoted to judging competitions with the following being amongst the Official Judges: Archie Roy and Gerald A.Roy, both ol Howick;
