been in operation since about the middle of September. Many obstacles had to be overcome and some of the shops will not be fully operative until the fall of 1968.It is indeed a splendid school and ome that the students should be proud of.It is going to provide our children with an education that will carry them through their lives much more easily than their parents. The methods of teaching and the methods of study are more along the lines of a university but to a level that the students can meet Naturally to accomplish the objective, this school is provided with much in the way of equipment and wider in scope in the applications.A whole vocational section provides an addition which has never before been in use in a high school. The scope of this is wide and will therefore offer greater opportunities for the students to equip themselves to better advantage than has previously been the case.At the moment it is all new both to the teachers and the students, but little by little all are fitting into the way of things and in due course the running will be more smooth. The school has over 70jsome of this is taken up by rooms all of which fit into thelan upper story To attempt to overall gets on the inside a certain beauty in finish is apparent. The large entrance into a spacious lobby is an introduction to what is found throughout the whole building. The floors are tiled in the modern day patterned designs and colors which blend with the rest of the decor. One enters first a small rotunda through many glass doors.A short distance and many more glass doors open into the lobby itself. There is a grandeur here that is totally unlike what one generally associates with a school.Inside Story Once inside one must got a sense of direction, or acquire a guide.Off to the right is the main office with several secre- tarieg at their desks.Off to onc side of this are the Principal's office and those of the two Vice-Principals.This is where the first business must \u2018be conducted.Just outside the office on the right is a staircase which leads to the upper floor, right across the lobby on the left is the huge cafeteria with a glass front and doors.Opposite this on the right is the entrance to the auditorium.A little further along on this same side is another staircase which leads to the upper floor. At this point large corridors lead off in three directions and along which are various classrooms and special rooms for a number of types of study. At various times these corridors and the lobby are a hive of motion as the students change various classrooms or file into the cafeteria or make their way to the outside for a recess period. It is seldom completely quiet in this area, as we have been used to expect in former schools. The upper floor is quite similar except that there (Continued on page 10) Receives Centennial Award ! the late Christine Sherrington, at the time of its inception in Ormstown, W.Lindsay Cullen owned and operated Pleasant
