three communities where the mayor\u2019s seat will be contested.In addition to Huntingdon, where three candidates are vying for the position vacated by longtime mayor Gerald Brisebois, and Godmanchester, where Réjean Legault is challenging mayor Philippe Leblanc, there will also be an election for mayor in Hinchinbrooke, where Davignon Park councillor Walter Chubry will face off against against 64 year-old St-Anicet priest Fr.Gilles Longtin.The suspect was released Monday on bail with conditions to respect.The victime remains in hospital with multiple fractures.Eric St-Onge appeared October 12 in Valleyfield before Judge Michel Mercier, who granted defence-lawyer Jean-Claude Latraverse's petition for a publication ban and a trial by judge and jury.A psychiatrist's evaluation of expected to face charges soon in St-Jean court in connection with vandalism to a Hydro pole which caused a two-hour blackout in Hemmingford Village late last month, one of several cases of vandalism and petty theft reported from that area.The power cut occurred during the late evening of September 20, when a dog leash made of metal chain was thrown over the wires, causing damages estimated at $20,000.Lacolle Sureté du Québec officers made the arrests of the 18- and 19 year-olds, who were later released pending charges.The case was turned over to the St-Jean district crown prosecutor.More recently, the front end of a tractor trailer truck stolen from outside a Lacolle restaurant last weekend was found in Sherrington.When Lacolle SQ officers attempted to detain two suspects, they ran away into the woods, but the investigation continues and police have called in SQ fingerprint experts from Montreal.The trailer from the unit has not been recovered.It contained over 300 cartons of different types of merchandise for which a detailed description and value was not available as of Monday.The driver of the truck, which was en route from New Jersey, had stopped for a meal when his Toute cette affaire a débuté dans la nuit du mardi 10 octobre au mercredi 1! octobre alors qu'une André Castagnier.automobile a dépassé à vive allure une auto-patrouille de la Sûreté du Québec, poste de Huntingdon.En effet, l\u2019auto-patrouille de la SQ a pris en chasse l\u2019auto, une Mercury Topaz 1990 grise.Le jeune homme au volant de celle-ci aurait perdu le contrôle pour s\u2019arrêter dans un fossé sur la route 132, non loin de l'intersection de la route 236.Après avoir brièvement interrogé le jeune homme au volant, les agents de la SQ ont découvert que l'auto avait été volée.Ils
