is to be done, and where.As far as I know, Lac St-Frangois borders not only on the municipality of St- Anicet.I find it hard to understand how we can clean up its water by concentrating only on the water coming into the lake from the LaGuerre River, which is dependent on the proper functioning of the pumping system during the summer, and on the agricultural practices taking place in the La Guerre basin.What might some other sources of contamination be?Could it be that only that section of this wonderful lake which is located in St- Anicet is contaminated?What about sources of pollution located up-river from the famous pumping station?And if we look down-river, just how far can we see the impact of the La Guerre and its adjacent farms?What about other sources - could the waste water from residences within the village, and from the hundreds of cottages along the lakeshore have anything to do with it?And doesn\u2019t the same kind of thing happen on the opposite shore of the lake?It seems to me that the farmers of the LaGuerre basin have been working on the problem for a number of years now.I have read several newspaper articles on the subject, including one on the collection of water samples for analysis following heavy rainfalls.Most of the farmers concerned are members of one of Quebec's oldest agri-environmental clubs.A group effort this spring involved restoring the anti-erosion bands of trees and shrubs along the LaGuerre by replanting, and the public was invited to lend a hand.This project is yet another proof that the farmers, with the help of other residents, are working toward protecting and improving the environment.In conclusion, I believe that the most important thing is for all of us to do everything we can to live together
