began to build and spread throughout the world's less developed regions, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon suggested that cultural tourism could play a significant role in advancing understanding among different cultures.Cultural tourism is one of the fastest growing international markets, and creative entrepreneurs are now in the game of promoting significant destinations as cultural assets.The relationship between culture and tourism is now a significant driver of regional development and growth.In truth, we have everything to gain from understanding the richness of one another's culture, however along with the obvious benefits of cultural education and awareness, historically there has also been a less positive side to intercultural tourism.The very nature of tourism is a complex system of encounters between local communities and visitors, often awkwardly placed in a similar situation of feeling enslaved to the consumptive side of tourism.Culture is not something to be consumed but shared.As such, it is easy to question the value of orienting tourist attractions around indigenous cultures and traditional values that inherently counter the economic value of mass consumption.At the same time, cultural tourism has allowed certain cultures to thrive in instances where they might have faded or completely disappeared.But at what point does cultural tourism cross what is by its very nature a thin line between the sharing of local traditions and their exploitation.Luckily.the new partnership between the Drouler\u2019s/Tsiionhiakwatha Archeological Site, the Lake Saint-Francois National Wildlife Area/Tsiiontoratstha and the Thompson Island Youth and Elders Camp/lonkwanikonri:io, which emphasizes traditional Iroquoian culture, is oriented around promoting education and awareness over profit.As non-profit organizations, the imperative behind their coming together is entirely driven by a desire to bring people together across cultures.And yet, despite the nature of the partnership, the organizations involved face some of the main issues facing the majority of cultural tourism sites, such as integration problems with local residents, political tensions over the control of future development, and a federal government less interested in conservation than promoting natural gas exploration within the region.In spite of these challenges however, the Tentsitewaiena inititive could serve as a model for other regions looking to re-unite the different cultures sharing the same land.The cultural tourism wave continues to build and curl.and eventually it will crash.Those organizations that will survive the coming of the next wave will be those founded on solid partnerships that hold the sharing of culture at their core serve for two years at the Huntingdon County Hospital on completion of the course, or to refund the money spent on the training if she did not want to serve the time at the local hospital.The course investigation has been opened.Major seizure of hashish and cannabis Two people were arrested following a major discovery and seizure of cannabis and hashish from a private residence located on the Chemin de l'Eglise in Sainte-Barbe on the morning of June 29.Armed with a search warrant, police officers of the Haut-Saint-Laurent detachment of the Sûreté du Quebec (SQ) stormed the home around 8am.When they arived on scene, officers discovered 373 plants at least 3 feet in height, as well as 600 grams of cannabis and 194 kilograms of hashish, hidden in the house and garage.The total value of the drugs seized amounted to $569.680.Two people were found on the property and were arrested.The suspects are 40- year-old Dali-Sebastien Monette and 33- year-old Marie-Eve Beaulieu.Both suspects were detained before appearing later the same day at the Salaberry-de- Valleyfield courthouse to face charges of possession of canabbis for the purpose of trafficking.Contraband tobacco seized
