Dair” you must on May 25, 30 and 31 in the Forum. For the Rotary Club of West- mount in keeping with the high | Standard of entertainment it has set during the past few years, is i this year outdoing itself. To raise funds in aid of the underprivileged ohildren for three noted institutions, the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Julius Richardson Convalescent Home and St.sumed as its responsibilities, the Rotary Club of Westmount is staging an elaborate and really old time Carnival Fair with a Midway full of treasurers and surprises.Entertainment will be provided for young and old and the gala atmosphere prevailing will drive worries and cares away for at least one evening.Mascot To Preside The Rotary Pony, the mascot of the Club, will preside for the three days of the Fair.He has endeared himself ‘so to the hearts of adults and children alike, by his intelligence, his gentleness ‘and his tricks, that he will certainly be the centre of attraction as far as the children are concerned.Glamorous girls, modeling styles of the ’80's and gay '90's will vie with their modern svelte- lined sisters of 1941, influenced by the latest creations from New York and Hollywood in two shows daily.Dancing in the Rotary Garden to the recordings of the world’s most famous dance bands, a tea room operated hy the Rotary Annes, Albert Murray's “Hole in One” Golf Course are but a few of the popular attractions offered.A modern streamlined version of the ever popular Midway will irclude amongst other features, “Hoop-la’ the latest innovation from New York in the entertainment field designed by Mrs.Whitney Bourne, “Sleepy Hollow,” “Toy Town,” “The Village Grocery”’.“Tobacco Road’, “The Storks Nest”, “Dart Hitler's Heart’, a booth run by the Royal Hockey Team boys and one by the Royal Soft Ball Team girls, ana many other fascinating spots, A booth has also been especially designed for the sale of War Savings Stamps, so that those attending may avail themselves of this facility to purchase their week's supply of Stamps, Children Aided In the midst of war, the under- priviledged child of the community must not be forgotten, Rotary the world over has concentrated to the care and welfare of those children. The Rotary Club of Westmount has undertaken as its responsibility the raising of funds to aid the Montreal Children's Hospital which cares for the sick, the Julius Richardson Convalescent Home that enables convalescing children to recuperate in the most ideal surroundings with proper care and attention, and, the St.Patrick's Orphanage that looks after the motherless and the fatherless, The cause for which the Rotary Club of Westmount is organizing the Spring Carnival Fair, is a needy one.One of the foremost problems facing society today is the proper care and treatment of sick and needy children, in order that such children reach adult age in a state of health that will enable them to take their rightful place in the life of the nation.More than ever today must these children be protected and given every care to insure thet» lealth and usefulness for the future that faces them, Every year the Rotary Club of Westmount has staged an outstanding entertainment to raise the needed funds to meet its responsibilities. This year, in preference to their annual Ice Carnival, which was abandoned due to the war and the impossibility of securing competent performers, it has undertaken to present a vast cavalcade of fun and frolic, modelled on Rotary Falrs that have been so succesfully held in other cities and communities throughout Canada.“Cone to the Fair”—and help Rotary to help others, GREAT SUCCESS MARKS A tremendous task faces all of us in raising the huge amount now asked by the government to further finance the war, but if everyone will do his share we'll go over the top again. It is vitally important that we do so, for failure to raise the requisite amount will be interpreted as lack of enthusiasm for the cause or lack of the resources to pay for the war.If we don’t make the grade, there will be rejoicing in Berlin and Moscow, for our enemies watch closely our every'success and failure.‘The Victory Loan campaign about the time the citizens begin putting up the flags to celebrate Victoria Day, and an excellent suggestion has been made that a few extra flags be run up and some extra pieces of bunting hung up and left on display until give the campaign a carnival tone.Let's dress the Victory Loan campaign is concluded.Let's up for victory.Let's take time by the forelock and celebrate, for the raising of this loan brings victory closer.A display of flags and bunting will help the workers, too. There is nothing like enthusiasm to maintain morale. Most of these workers are putting in a great deal of effort and long hours without pay.Their only reward is the satisfaction of doing a patriotic duty well. They have a huge task ahead of them.Let's all help generate the enthusiasm necessary to send the loan sailing past its objective.Get out the flags!
