bantam section of the Westmount Municipal Six-Man-Rugby League, Although the league schedule itself has been concluded the loop playoffs involving the first four teams has received a severe setback. The jone game able to be played off settled the fourth place team as the Rinkydinks .swamped the Cardinals 34-5 on Saturday morning. The initial games in the semi- fina] playoff serles were scheduled to get underway eome time last week but the most recent date was yesterday afternoon at King George Park where the Rinky- dinks met the Red Wings and the Greyhounds played the Dragons. The second games in these total-points-to-count series will be played on Saturday ‘morning with the Dragons meeting the Greyhounds at 10.00 am, and the Red Wings and Rinkydinks hooking up at 10.45 ~.m.In the event of any of the teams winning the first game of the series by fifteen points or more they will be declared the winners without the necessity of playing the second tilt, The Rinkydinks had very little trouble with the Cardinals in their sudden-death game to decide fourth place and a spot in the loop playoffs, The winners took an 11-0 leas at half-time and increased it to 34-5 by the end of the game.Joa Carter led the winners on the offensive with eighteeen points via three touchdowns end three converts.Nor- mie Kerr was next in line with ten points, while Jackie Martin with five and Richard Lord with one, accountec¢ for the winner's remaining points. The losers cut loose with one scoring play when Hazen Costello grabbed a forward pass on his own side of centerfield and ran the rest of the way for an unconverted touchdown.NEXT Rye, Sussex — population of 4,000 — hag only one hairdresser. The Town council were asked to remedy this by Councillor Mrs.Hacking, who said: With King Frost making his presence felt it signifies the end of another scholastic football season. This has been one of the most successful gridiron seasons our school has ever enjoyed. The Senior “B’" squad surprised football tans when they upset the highly touted Red Raiders from West Hill for the City title, and our Bantams showed fine form all season to finish second to Loyola's power laden club, In the last Bantam game of the year, which was against the title winning Loyola team, all the boys visited the victors’ dressing room to pay their compliments, and this was done in the true fine traditional St.Leo's spirit being good losers as well as modest winners. It is too bad this spirit is not contagious as with but one exception we are never honored with the customary visit of an opposing coach on the short end of the score while on the other hand we are proud to say our coach always finds time to drop around to visit the victors’ dressing room to congratulate the winners, for, after all, this are to be brought along to play the game in the spirit in which it is intended.Football} Round Up St.Leo's old boys wishing to go to the Football Social at Victoria
