Stars Win 10-2 The Avenue Stars went run wild in the seventh inning to break up a 1-1 ball game and defeat the Pôlice and Fire. The final score was 10-2.Ron Brom- bell pitching for the Stars had the protection men baffled all the game with his great pitching chore. To aid his cause, brother Doug Brombell had two timely hits to drive in 4 runs. This loss marked the first the Police and Fire have had in 8 games. In the other game played this week a strong Western Taxi team beat out the Ryps to tune of 18-1.Frank Healey pitched 16 strike out ball for Western, allowing only 4 scattered hits, while his team-mates, headed by Loiseau with 5 hits, Gleason with 4 hits and Tompkins with 3 hits, helped to provide the victory. On Monday night Plymouths meet Western, and Police and Fire take on Ryps.As early as 300 B.C.India had a law providing a fine for adulteration of food.LAOREET MINUTE € KN us, 4 CARLINGS | aad | REPORTER PL ATFURDAY x STANDINGS P.W, L.Pet, Police and Fire .10 8 2 sw Colonials .10 7 3 Avenue Stars .,.10 7 3 0 Western Taxi .7 4 3 51 Girard Auto Plym.9 5 4 555 Shamrocks .8 4 4 500 Ryps 0000000 10 8 7 M0 Bombers 8 2 4 200 Yards .8 0 8 000 To be eligible for appointment to the Senate, a.Canadian must own lands worth $4,000 and must be worth $4,000 above all debts.— Quick Canadian Facts.| RECONSTRUCTING WAR DAMAGED CENTRES Provincial cities and towns in Britain are to be allocated $12,000,000 next year for rebuilding bombed areas. This will be spent almost entirly for reconstructing business centres de- vasted by air raids.À pump.Reg.$62.50 drum broke & ‘Winkie’ b ABOVE BICYCLES AT $2.50 Boys' and girls’ balloon tires and chrome guards.STURMEY -
