the West- mount Junior Stamp Club. From that small group has grown the largest and most progressive postage stamp club in Canada. The first president was Max Caplan, followed by David Hackett.Michael Ashby this year became the club's third president. The aim of the Westmount Junior Stamp Club is to promote greater knowledge of postage collecting, which, in turn promotes facts about geography, history, and many other subjects. It is therefore educational as well as being an interesting hobby. The most interesting part of the club has been made since January of this year.Since then a constitution has been drawn up, a bank account started, paper notices sent out to members and accounts of the club's meeting published in this newspaper. Also a first-day-of-issue service has been made possible.During the season 1951-52 the club held 30 meetings with an average attendance of 24.6.The average attendance this season so far has heen 40.7.The latter is a considerable rise, which, it is hoped, will be continued. At the end of the 1951-52 season 90 members were registered. Now that figure has risen to 117.Last season various quizzes, raffles, auction sales, talks and votes on different matters took place. The proceeds of the quizzes, auctions etc.went to charitable worthwhile purposes. These activities will be continued this year. The Westmount Junior Stamp Club is governed by two adult advisers and an executive of five consisting of a president, vice- president, secretary, treasurer and membership whip. The latter's duty is to get members to attend the meetings. The executive and advisers abide by a constitution consisting of five articles and 17 sections. The executive is either clected by the club or appointed By the advisers. All boys and girls who are interested in stamp collecting are urged to join the club.Meetings are held in the Oak Room of Victoria Hall on Thursdays at 7 p.m.All juniors are cordially welcomed, ’ Church Of Advent To Celebrate 60th Year The Even the man on the street now sees the acts of legislators (notwithstanding most legislators and in particular the author and his able wife) have the best of intentions, the net results are far from satisfactory and end in continuing" wars quite unavoidable as long as your different economic Systems have the fundamental faults which our system of land ownership and the basis of our medium of exchange have, and with no one in particular to blame, but all of us at fault for our failure to study those basic and all important ‘questions. And how strange it is that one With such zeal and energy as the author and after being a member of the House of Commons for 24 years and 35 years of political and industrial activity “can find no reason to alter my convicition that the principles of democratic socialism are the only one broadly applicable to the situation in which mankind now finds itself.” Those are the closing words and what could be more indefinite?: In his first chapter he wrote: “In such cases the question shapes itself in some such question as, How can I get on?or What career shall I choose?’ I don’t mean by this that we are necessarily less selfish It was merely that the texture of our lives shaped the question into a class - HERE IS NEWS PURE WHOLE EGGS in Powder Are More Than Welcome in England We have been informed by a traveller
