it is going to be difficult indeed, to imagine anyone but him handing out the annual teachers’ Award of Honour to deserving students. As to his immediate future plans, Mr.Atwood maintains them to be ‘vague’.Besides .Fe 4 à J.2 mE = A.P.Duke, 731-6817 - Home : REAL ESTATE BROKER 731-6817 “Member of RealCare' DETACHED COTTAGE 5 Bedrooms, Den, 22 Bathrooms Knotty Pine Recreation Room $49,500 ' This centre hall best values on t "pletely detached, 2 storeys and built Bin some 60 feet back from the road, on a #7 lot of over 7,000 square feet—mature Bk trees, garden and patio.wrx: YOUR ENQUIRIES ARE INVITED : FRANK A.NORMAN & CO.LTD.1255 Laird Boulevard, Town of Mount Royal Member of Montreal Real Estate Board plan home is one of the e market today.Com- 481-6365 available for @ FOOTBALL & BASEBALL TEAMS © WEEK-END PARTIES GROUPS At Very Reasonable Prices CHARTER BUS SERVICE 30 BUSES AVAILABLE Capacity from 18 to 78 Passengers "FULLY COVERED BY INSURANCE" @ CHILDREN'S SUMMER CAMP @ CHURCH PICNICS, ETC.For Complete ion call: Mr.Castonguay 453-3 805 BISSONNETTE BUS LINES resting, he plans to go on to university work next summer, probably to show Mrs.Atwood Merrie Olde Englande and other parts of Great Britain.Whatever lies in the future, may we on the behalf of all students, teachers, and citizens of Westmount, wish Howard Atwood luck and success in all that he may do, and also thank him for a job well done in a career which we are sure was as satisfying to him as il was to those associated with him.In our thanks and gratitude we must not, however, forget our two vice-principals who are both leaving Westmount this year. Our thanks are extended to Mr.Mc- Rae, who will be Principal of Westmount Park School, and to Mr.Mackie, who will be Principal of Dunton High School. The enormous task of replacing them will go to Mr.K.Campbell, Vice- Principal of Mount Royal High, and to Mr.R.McEwan, the head of the Mathematics Department at John Grant High.To all these men the best of luck. And to you, the reader, the best possible summer holidays ‘Flip for | Easter Seals The Quebec Easter Seal Society, with the co-operation of the Montreal Flying Club, will sponsor a Flyathon, Sunday, June 6 at Cartierville Airport, 2300 Bois Franc Road.“Last year we had almost 400 Montrealers show up to take a look at our city from the air, society president Robert E.Meagher said, in announcing the Flyathon.“We charge $3.00 a flip and almost every cent of that goes towards the work of the Society, which is helping the physically handicapped. The gasoline, the use of the planes and the services of the experienced pilots, are all donated.” Mr.Meagher pointed out that the flights are ten minutes each, “and at $3.00 that's a bargain, to say nothing of the fact the money is used to help people who badly need our help”.Flying starts at 9 a.m.and continues until dusk.Light fare With the advent of the summer reading season — when more and more Westmounters seem to be curling up with a good book — the fiction stacks have been well-stocked with the latest from a long list of popular and newer authors. Some of the titles are quite intriguing too — but then, you can't always tell a book by its title these days, any more than you can from its cover.A quick glance through the latest list offers such tempting morsels as: In the biography section the list includes: The Virgin Mistress, by Elizabeth Mavor; More deeply, we believe Mr.Asselin has forgotten that, for all their failings, newspapers generally outpull politicians in the long-haul faith of readers-citizens-voters, The Press ranks with Parliament and the Law as a cherished free institution.Mr.Asselin talked nonsense in the House Tuesday on Press opinion of an M.P.(himself) and a judgment. The Press is fulfilling its highest role when it is keeping a critical and jealous eye on Parliament and the Courts and on those in whose hands these precious trusts temporarily rest.Sam Bronfman heads Community Services Samuel Bronfman has been Sir: After reading your editorial of May 28th concerning Mr.Pelletier’s address to (he Westmount Rotarians, my husband and 1 were appalled by the fact that the point of Mr.Pelletier’s words had so evidently been missed, and by an editor who made the punch-line of his editorial an insistence that none of our travelling Rotarians had ever had battles with the police on Victoria Day.Really ! Mr.Pelletier may be given credit, I am sure, for more intelligence than to have intended any such implication. Why not begin all over again by looking back at what Mr.Pelletier did mean?As for the article in the same issue of The Examiner, reporting Mr.Pelletier's address, we wonder again at an editor who would allow a reporter to submit work riddled with such amazing English spelling, grammar and rhetoric.Again, really ! gramming. He has been a member of Les i Grands Ballets Canadiens since | its beginning as soloist and in! 11964 was appointed assistant | ; ballet master.| Brydon Paige has shown a | marked gift for chorcography and shows this in his interpretation for Espagnola which is a feature production in the company's repertoire. He also! | created Medea, with its elec- i tronic sound track, for last year's programme which reached such popularity that he left for Portugal Wednesday June 2nd, to stage it for the national company there. As a dancer he has | become extremely well known for his interpretations of character roles in ballets such as Comme- dia dell’Arte, Fille mal gardée, Cinderella and Graduation Ball.He is very versatile in his artistic endeavors and as a side line he has for the past five years been choreographer for the Montreal Alouette football game Hall- time Shows, Continuing as the company's Artistic Advisor is Irish born Anton Dolin who is recognized as the greatest English Dancer of the past half century, and who for many years partnered with Alicia Markova and created the Markova-Dolin Company.Ballet Mistress is Milenka Niderlova, who has a leading dancer at the Theatre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels.Company manager is Roger Rochon, well known French-Canadian dancer, and one of the first member of the National company.Total spending of public funds by all levels of government in Canada in 1964 was $14.5 billion, compared to $7.3 billion ten years earlier.COLONIAL ARMS HOTEL Warrensburg, New York Summer Vacation Paradise SPECIAL WEEKEND RATES Friday Night to Sunday Night Breakfast Saturday and Sunday SMORGASBORD Saturday Evening and SUNDAY DINNER — also — SATURDAY EVENING DANCING SIX BEAUTIFUL BOWLING ALLEYS SWIM IN OUR INDOOR SWIMMING POOL Finest Food & Beverages $35.00 For Two Persons For Reservations Phone (518) 623-3481 Relax in our Modern Motels READ and USE WANT ADS REGULARLY Armstrong in his native city.and | Stars in Vancouver. He got an!
