In many town* the council includes, along with a fire department, a police commission, water works ., a recreation commission.Perhaps it will be a few years more before Shaw ville takes this step but Monday night's visitor to Shawville Rotary came close to proposing this very thing.Commenting on the work done by that service club in establishing youth activities in the town (such as free skating, carnivals, Halloween parties, the wading pool, and most lately taking over the summer playground program), the District Rotary Governor suggested that if the town could take over the running of these things the Club would be free to take further progressive steps. The Council already contributes substantially to youth activities through various grants. With a recreation commission the control would also lie with the Council and specifically with a recreation commissioner.Parks would perhaps also come under his authority. This is not a matter of tremendous moment just something to mull over for a while and eventually come to a decision about.i k i - etc % Rev.J.B.Small, BA.BD Holy Communion celebrated the first Sunday in Advent, Epip hany, Lent, Easter.Pentecost and Christmas Eve The
