the sacred rit.' of commemorating the institution of the Holy Eucharist, was celebrated followed by a procession to the depository at one of the side altars, which had been adorned in a very effective manner. On Good Friday after the unveiling of the cross the adoration of the cross took place.Afterwards a sermon by Father Lamoureux on the Passion of Our Lord was preached. On Saturday the blessing of the new fire won followed by the blessing of the .Easter lights followed by a similar function at the.Sacred Font and the service was completed by a joyful Mass.On Easter Sunday a congregation The j quotations from various firms giving prices on motors and pumps, as it is the intention of the Council to install an auxiliary pump at the pumping station and also to run the stone crusher with electricity. There were also two petitions brought before the Council relative to the market, one of which requested that the Council go on -with their intention of moving the site; the other requesting that it remain where it is.Both were taken up for consideration. This proposition"is coming in for a lot of comment on all sides and is not tending to make the lot of the councillors any more easy, as some are loudly in favor of it and others much against it.SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS.vAt a meeting of the School Commissioners the model and advanced elementary teachers -were engaged for the following year.Miss McKenney, of Philipsourg, for the Model Department, and Miss Alice Baker, of Dan-' ville, tor thr Advanced Elementary. The teachers for the other departments were considered, but have not yet been engaged.NOTES.Men and Boys, buy your Rubber Boots at Pibus’ and save money.Mrs.Arthur Carter returned home this week from the Royal Victoria Hospital.Children’s Shoes a specialty at Pibus.’ Mrs.W.L.Marier, who has been spending the winter at the Lake-view, has opened her house for the summer.Rubbers !
