Shot Him, Aft*r having been camping on Nun n Island with bis wife, for the pa~st month, Mr.William Lealle, 33 years f age, of 179 ('hatham Street, wan la^t night accidentally shot, it is supposed, the deoonsed receiving a bullet in hifl right side, from which he died early this morning in the Western Hospital.The body has been conveyed to the morgue.Where an autopsy will he performed, and an inquest held.At midday to-day the police had not found the person who tired the shot, but it is.stated that they have secured the witnesses of the tragedy, and expect to find the person this afternoon.Mrs.Leslie, the widow, states that she had gone last night to the vamp of a neighbor to borrow a shovel to help her husband, who was making a croquet lawn near their camp, when >he heard a shot, and saw the wife of another enmpor standing with a rifle in her hand, for the purpose, apparently, of shooting some birds that were about.Not being in sight or her home, Mrs Leslie could not see the effect of the shot, but on her return some men told her that her hush.ana had been shot.She rushed to the tent, and found her husband lying prostrate on the grass with his hands pressed to his side.She endeavored to aid her husband, but the shock was too great for her, and she.remembered very little until she reached the hospital.As Mr.Leslie was being placed in a Imat, to be carried to shore, Mrs.Leslie became hysterical, and attempted to attack the woman who she said had fired the shot, but was restrained from doing so by the crowd of campers who gathered.She broke away from them, and rushsd into the water, after the boat, whicn turned back and picked her up.An ambulance from the Western Hospital was called, and the fatally Injured man taken there, where a .22 calibre bullet was found embedded In the right side.As rhe man\u2019s condition was so had it was thought wise to have an ante-mortem statement, and Mr.fîarnier.secretary of the Detective Bureau, together with
