taken by the widow of the late Thomas Crilly, who was one of the plaintiffs against the Traver estate, which’ created such a stir in the District of Bedford a few years ago.The late Hon.H.Thomas Dufly was the attorney for the different .plaintiffs, Crilly, Green and Crothers.Judgments had: been obtained for the plaintiffs in the Superior Court, and this was confirmed in the.Court of Appeals in Montreal. They had been ‘executed and “satisfied, but Mr.Duffy died’ before having settled himself with his own clients. This was an action to adjust the different transactions between him and his client Crilly. There were some claims and contra-claims, but finally after the examination of the hooks, and alter evidence, the Court finally gave judgment for the Plaintiff in thisvcause against the Dufly estate for the sum of $135.’ RIGHT OF OCCUPANCY OF BUILDING.Barker vs.Cotton.—The parties are the well-known printers and publishers of Cowansville, the plaintiff baving owned for a number of years the Cowansville Observer, which twd” years ago he sold to defendant, who changed the name into Cotton's Weekly, a socialist organ. The transaction ‘gave to defendant the newspaper branch of the business.and the job business was left to the Plaintiff, with provision for .joined occupancy of the premises where the business was carried on, ‘by defendant paying plaintifl.the sum of $350 a year. This rent was paid for some time, when defendant refused to pay any more, claiming that he had the sole right to occupy the Premises, and that plaintiff had to pay him for the occupation for the last two years.Although the deed was not very clear by its terms, the proof and circumstances showed clearly that plaintift ‘had the right to -oc- the principal owner and possessor thereof.having only partially divested himself of this right of occupation.Hence the present action, accompanied with saisic gagerie, which was.maintained, and the counterclaim of defendant was dismissed, the whole with costs.AUBRY VS.CANADIAN EXPRESS ’ co.- This case in the Circuit Court bas far-reaching effects, in fact, it brings to light the obligations and rights of express companies. The plaintifl, theatre manager, had shipped from Richmond on the 5th of August last a parcel of advertising matter for a theatrical show to take place at Cowansville about the end of August. The company defendant gave him a receipt for the charges, 75c, which included the divers ordinary.clauses Printed on the same, and to responsible for any mishap Sutton, March 11.—(Special)— Though very few of our farmers got their sugar orchards tapped in time to get much benefit by the first good run of sap, there were a few whp profited by an the freeze-up, which has put almost a week's check to the sugar operations.x , DISCUSSED INSURANCE RATES.ial)—At the regular session of the Megantic Board of Trade a discussion was entered into upon the question of lower rates of insurance in town, which is at present based on the highest scale of the insurance companies, on account of there ‘ being no organized equipment for fighting fires. It was decided to petition the Council to at once form an efficient fire brigade, that can be called up at any moment. The town, or Board of Trade will then be in a position to- petition the insurance companies for lower rates.— = SETTLED €ASE OUT OF COURT.Coaticook, March 14.—(Special)— vicinity of Wallace Fond, in the ‘Township of.Hereford, got to quarrelling
