horsethieves. It just happens that the rival paper, the Slobville Clarion, misses out on the story, due to the usual efficiency of the city editor, who thought it was next Tuesday. When the said city editor sees the following day's Journal, he screams at the Asst.City Ed., who thought the meeting was last Tuesday but didn’t say anything because he figured he’d be fired. In due course the Journal's story is handed to a rewrite man, who puts the last paragraph first and generally gives the impression he was there.A procedure which fools no one except the mayor who's too conceited anyway. That, roughly, is known as scalping, but instead of going to a rival paper (there is one?) were going to look back through the past few week’s Suns and see if there's anything worth completely handcuffed the visitors for the first 8 innings with his varied assortment of tricky pitches, giving up only one run, a homer by John Mou- land in the fifth inning. Then in the ninth the roof fell in as Mike Dooley led off with a homer to tie the gam eup and was quickly followed by singles by Ray Le- duc, Ray Brother, and Bob Lil- lay to score two more] runs and put the game on ice.For the losers Mac Stienbur and Harold Hawley were outstanding, Stienburg scoring the first run while a hard smash by Hawley drove in the second. As a result of sensational fielding your scribe managed to gain credit for the victory but the 10 strikeouts credited to Steinburg were undoubtedly the major point of pitching interest.SPORTOPICS: The Football Team opens on Aug.14 at Farnham with
