to Maureen Tracy for Matlie- On Friday.Sept 27 the an nual Commencement Exercifr were held at St Mary's Auditorium.Quyon.The program began with a Community Mass offered by Rev Fr Klatt Parish Priest, before a large assembly of relatives and friends of the graduates.Special hymns were arranged accompanied by Willard Proulx, Ian Hudson, Stephen Kennedy and Clare Chevrier on the guitars.Following the Mass the Fourth-Year leaving Certificates were presented to the Graduates by Fr Klatt and this was followed by the distribution of Bursaries and Awards.They were as follows: Bursary donated by the Canadian Ivegion was presented by Mr John Lebrun to Roger Pi- Bursary from Hilton Mines presented by Sr Alberta to Peter McCann who obtained the highest average in Gr Thirteen Departmental Examinations.The Annual Award from the Catholic Women\u2019s League of Quyon was presented by Mrs Hudson to Donald Cooney for English.Two awards given by Miss Fleming of Fairbank s Hotel, Quyon were presented by Sandy Burke to Dianne Jennings for Algebra and to David Mulligan for Physics.Two awards donated by Mr and Mrs Paquin, proprietors of Quyon Hotel were presented by Mr John Lebrun to Willard Proulx and to Michael Moore for French.An award from Dr and Mrs Hudson and family was presented to Marian Smith for English.An award donated by Mr.will be mailed shortly.Shawville Rotary President and Mrs Ernst Stranacher, Rotarians Art Hodgins, Rene latreillc and Orval Smart, with Mrs Hodgins and Mrs La-treilie all took part in the Conference in Brockville last week which included Rotarians from fifty clubs in District 704.This District takes in an international area of Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec and Northern New York.Keynote speaker was Dr Francz Leitner, Austrian Ambassador to Canada and a long time member of Rotary which he said calls for daily all-out efforts in the professions as well as in the family and community lives of Rotarians.Dr Leitner's message held particular interest for the delegation from the Shawville Club whose president who himself was an Austrian citizen before he came to Canada.Dr Leitner said a great responsibility rests with
