NEWS IN BRIEF Levesque QUEBEC (CP) Rene Levesque, leader of the separatist Parti Québécois, says the Union Nationale s school language policy is contributing to the assimilation of French < 'anadians The entire government, and not just the education depart ment, favors English language education, he said Emergency plans are being formulated for regional Mr Levesque reviewed the language policy of his Parti Québécois, which is that anyone who now speaks English is entitled to education in that language Quebec plan LENNOX VILLE — (RST) — Yesterday in an interview with the Record.J.Edward Perry said emergency plans are now being formulated to overcome the problems created by the delayed opening of the Alexander Galt Regional School He said a provisional advisory council chaired by Mr.MacLeay was meeting to discuss the measures which would be taken to accommodate the students during the time before the school would be opened.Teachers At the same time he said the means of making up for lost time were being discussed and that the subject department heads were in the process of preparing reports concerning specific short cuts which could be taken.Mr.Perry said that the report from the report will accompany the student handbook which will supply the information necessary to new students entering the Alexander Galt School.Mr.Perry said that the school board was beginning to have meetings with the parents.“One or two parent groups have approached us," he said, “and they have arranged to meet with us concerning the contingency methods." Mr Perry emphasized that his hoard was well aware of the problems which exist due to the delay in the construction of the new school. He said that there was no easy solution, to the problem but that they were working to come up with the best possible means to accommodate for the delay Meanwhile construction continues at the school site and contractors are trying desperately to meet their deadlines.Paul Jalbert, general contractor claims that he is still being held up by the lack of manpower Equipment is scheduled to flow into the school at the middle of this month and it is still hoped that Grades 10 and 11 students will be able to move into the south block by the first week in October.Other parts of the building are far less advanced and many are doubting that the November disclosed by Hanoi broadcasts Wednesday that made it clear the end was near Broadcasts announcing the death were heard in Washington.Paris, and Hong Kong and elsewhere over the world In San Clemente.Calif the Western White House said President Nixon would have no comment on Ho s death The broadcast heard in Saigon named a special 25-man committee to take charge of the funeral It was headed by I^e Duan, first secretary of the North Vietnamese Communist party No 2 on the list was old party faithful Ton Due Thang the 81 year-old vice president of the party who is regarded as a likely interim leader following Ho’s death MAIN RIVAL AS LEADER No 3 was pro-Peking Truong Chmh the outspoken chief rival of Le Duan for leadership of the Hanoi regime No 4 was Pham Van Dong, premier and outwardly the heir apparent to the lightlybearded leader who came to power in 1945 and led North Vietnam *o victory over the French in 1954 Gen Vo Nguyen Giap.the military leader who masterminded South and simply might suhordi nate their own disagreements." said one In Pans, a North Vietnamese delegation official read a com munique from Hanoi which said Our entire party and all our forces and people of Vietnam shall mourn President Ho Chi Mmh for seven days, from Sept 4 to Sept 10 I he otticial said he could not say whether the mourning period would include a battlefield ceasefire The
