Monday.Notwithstanding the storm there was a goodly company present.The tables were bountifully spread, and the programme that followed was of a high order, includ ing speeches by Revs.NN addall, ^iloox and Boshart and some excellent music by the choir.Owing to the superabundance of provisions the festivities'were continued on Tuesday night when the children were specially entertained.The proceeds of the two nights amounted to nearly sixty dollars.Rev.A.A.Radley exchanged pulpits on Sunday last with Rev.W.1*.Boshart of Grenville.Muriel, the nine year old daughter of W.Riddell of this Mrs.A.C.Jackson last Tuesday evening.A very practical talk on the subject of Reading was given by Dr.Edgar, which was followed by remarks in the same line of thought by Mrs.L mise M.Smiley, the president of the Club.A floral wedding, a reminder of summer days and flowers,then took place followed by an initial game which cn ated much amusement.The Art Exhibit was a novelty that taxed the wits of all present to interpret.Quotations and conundrums, interspersed with songs by the genial and talented Mr.A.C.Jackson, who is always ready to jlend his vo ce on such occasions.Refreshments were served during the evening.Arrangements are made for a lecture by Rev.Mr.Read, of Lennoxville, in the course of a month.The next social will he with Mr.and Mrs Charles Ramsdell,and it will he a Kipling evening.Notwithstanding the storm on Sunday evening eighteen members were present at the Y.P.C.U., fourteen young men and four ladies.Mrs.(Dr.) Edgar and sister, Mrs.Mar ceau, spent Sunday in Montreal, and while there the latter fell on a slippery sidewalk and sustained some injury.Mrs.Charles Karasdell visited her par ents last week in Angus.Sermon next Sunday in the Universal ist Church
