marched through the decorated, streets of Sherbrooke this morning.; The effects of three months of train- ; ing was apparent, in the trim, sol-i dierly appearance of the khaki-clad officers and men.Physically strong, mentally endowed with the courage and determination necessary for the! tions in the Val Fiemme and the j Italians are now near Predazzo, 27 l miles northeast of Trent.Possession ! of this town would seriously threat-; en Bozzano (Bozen) and the single railroad running south to Trent, and serving as a source of supplies j to all the Austrian garrisons in ; Southern Tyrol. The Austrians practically destroyed the health resort, San Martina di Castrozza, to the southeast of the Sima di Vezzana, the dominating mountain peak which was.captured .several days ago by the Italians. In 1 the resort were 8 large hdtels, six ; belonging to Germans or Austrians, j and two to Italians. While the artillery duels continue : between the Italian guns on the rieht flank of the Isonzo and the Austrian batteries of Fort Tolfuzio, just to ' the rear of Gradisca, it is reported here thkt Austrians have abandoned the town of Gradisca which is the key to the entire frontier position. The Austrians have concentrated five army corps in this region to resist the Italians marching toward Trieste.Further to the south, on the Isonzo, the Italian army attacking Mon-salcone is in touch with the main Austrian army, and a great battle in the district cannot long ho delayed, according to military experts who know the country.Monsalcone, which is an important town on the railroad to Trieste, is also being bombarded from the sea by the Italians. Two Italian torpedo boats entered The Gulf of Trieste yesterday morning, sank two merchant vessels and damaged an auxiliary cruiser. No official confirmation has been given to reports that Trieste itself is being bombarded by the Italians from Grado, the town in the Gulf of Trieste taken last week by the Italians.WILL RECONSTRUCT LIBRARY OF LOUVAIN UNIVERSITY that quarter in consequence of the threatened aspect on the Bulgarian frontier.Manchester, June 4.\u2014 (Special) \u2014 When the devastated cities and towns of Belgium rise again, one of the first tgsks to be undertaken will be the.reconstruction of the library of | the University of Louvain.A nucleus of the organization and funds necessary for this purpose has j just been established here by the John Hylands Library, a wealthy foundation, established many years ago by a millionaire Manchester cot- !
