Titre :
The Quebec chronicle
La ligne éditoriale du journal est définie comme suit : « [.] in the management of The Morning Chronicle we shall, therefore, begin by simply declaring, that, as we glory in our connexion with the British Empire, it will be our undeviating aim and unremitting endeavour, to create and foster a cordial attachment to those time-honoured institutions which have made her so illustrious in the annals of the world ». (May 18, 1847, p. 2)

[Traduction]
Voici les différents titres que le Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph a connus depuis ses débuts : Disponibles en ligne : The Morning Chronicle (Jan. 1847 - Nov. 1850) The Morning Chronicle and Commercial and Shipping, 1850-1888 The Morning Chronicle (Feb. 1888 - May 1888) The Quebec Morning Chronicle, 1888-1898 The Quebec Chronicle, 1898-1924 Non disponible en ligne : The Chronicle Telegraph (1925-1934) The Québec Chronicle-Telegraph (1934 à ce jour)

when the refusal was raroatel id became suspicious, and gave rise to the impression that there was something that the Comnds: sion or the flovernmient was trying to concval, and the result has confirmed that impression.It now appears that the Cowmismon had been so far unjustly scoused of déilatorinens that it had prepared two reports; one of them meraly a dralt report, and partaking an Nr.Parent contends, pather cf the nature of minutes, the other the ree port brought down to the House, which was =o far in an imperfect state that it had not received the signature of the Secretary.It was fur ther ascertained that there was à vi" tai difference hetween the drafted re port, and that afterwesds actually submitted, and that the former con- tainel recfimmendations for grants to certain roads, while tha latter ‘was gn irxlofimite and shapelesa thing, chiefly concerned with a discussion of the relative merits of steam and plectrici- ty, amd containing no recommendation | whatever.Furthermore, it was ostalit jished that in the recommendntiony contained in the draft there was na division gf opinion, but all the Com: mimsionern had agreed on them.and dispesionately viewed, and whil we do nok ge so far at present as 4p say that it is she: true one, yeb we venture to think that Mr.Parent, ap calmed consideration, will see that it calls for an explanation, even an matter ol courtesy, and not for a hl which aumounta to 4 telianee, mére eme A PIBLD FOR ENTRRFRIAN.A copy pl the Dismond Fields Ad: vertiser, just received, contains a very interesting “‘Dmteryiew”’ betwen thé management ‘and Mr.J.G.Jardine the Canadiaï Conuieuloner, in the course of which he indicates that thé field for Canadian enterprise in font Africa ju Unbounded.While he leads to the conclusion that there is cuter prise displayéd on the part of :omp of our steschants, there is room À a very great ‘dial more.Can dia flour and dairy produce are in evi lence Mr.Jardine reporting the importatic at Cape Town of roine five thousa! packages of butter which sold well and was popular.*gricultural imple ments are also in demand, the a“derg being heavy.Apples and conned gooils are alse in demand, the quanti;
