of the Cunadian Legion, learns that repairs are beina A special attraction will be the 1961 line of General Electric appliances that will be on display in the newly-renovated Braith- waite Bros.store.Like the new models of automobiles that are being introduced for 1961, G-E's new line of ranges, dishwashers, clothes washers and dryers, refrigerators, freezers, etc.have been slimmed down in size and present a complete new appearance, yet at the same time inter ior dimensions have been re vamped and improved.1961 G-E televisions, besides being slimmer and more attractive, feature “Daylight Blue” which results in a better picture that is actually restful for one's eyes.Reaction to G-E’s 1961 line in family discussions rivals that heralded by milady's fall dress styles or the robuble results in the presiden- tia] race south of the border.People from out-of-town who iave not visited Braithwaite Bros.store since it was renovated will probably do so at the November 4 electrical cooking lemonstration. The changes are :mazing.Braithwaite Bros.have discontinued certain outmoded hardware lines and even removed the old showcases that carried some lines of smallwares. In ad- Jition to G-E, such well known ‘rade names as Remington, Spar.made as required on the bridge and a sign will soon be posted Tiniting the weight to be carried bv the bridge, the word that the cost of a hall would be in the hundreds of thousands of do.lars.When asked, Mr.Laberge said that he favoured the amaigamo- tion of the three municipalities of Chateauguay Heights, Town of Chateauguay Heights and Chateauguay Center. The only large stumbling block in the way is the fact that the Town of Chateauguay is in debt close to 3!2 million dollars while Cha- teauguay Center has a debt of only 1!» million. The thought that comes to mind is that any town hall built now, is going to prove inadequate as soon as any amalgamation takes place. This is a problem that should be looked into seriously before any steps are taken. The tax rate this year will be raised 5 c.per hundred. This is due to the water just being put in.Asked if he would run for Mayor again “ext year,
